Installing at 3 inches can offer added durability and longer-lasting coverage, especially in higher-use areas. Depths less than 2 inches may allow weed barrier or soil to become visible. When in doubt, test a small section first.

- Sizing: Primarily 3/4"–1" material. Some pieces may exceed 1", and the material will include smaller particles and fines as part of the natural mix.
- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a light presence of fines (typically less than 10%). Fines from production, handling and transport are normal.
- Appearance: Fractured stone with a consistent red color. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. Expect minor variation between loads as with any quarried material.
- Also known as: Commonly referred to as landscape gravel or decorative driveway rock.
