Note: A typical installation depth is 3–3.5 inches for this rock, which provides good coverage for most applications. Installing at 4 inches can offer added durability and longer-lasting coverage, especially in higher-use areas. Depths less than 3 inches may allow weed barrier or soil to become visible. When in doubt, test a small section first.
Product details, what you should know
- Sizing: Primarily 3/4"–2" material. Some pieces may exceed 2", and the material will include smaller particles and fines as part of the natural mix.
- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a presence of fines (typically less than 10-15%). Fines from production, handling and transport are normal. This material can sometimes contain more fines than normal due to processing (~20%).
- Appearance: Smooth, naturally rounded pebbles featuring soft cream and light gray tones dry. Colors deepen dramatically when wet, revealing rich charcoal, warm brown, and dark olive hues. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. Fines content can vary somewhat between loads — most deliveries are clean, but occasionally loads may come in with a higher fines content than usual. Natural variation in color and size is to be expected with any naturally sourced river pebble.

Olympus Pebbles are a great choice when you want a natural, varied look with real visual depth. The dry-to-wet color transformation is impressive — what appears as soft gray and cream dry turns into a rich, dramatic mix of charcoal and warm brown when wet, making them especially stunning around water features and fountains. As with all smooth rounded pebbles, we don't recommend them for driveways or RV pads as they tend to shift under vehicle weight.
