Note: A typical installation depth is 1.5-2 inches for this rock, which provides good coverage for most applications. Installing at 2.5 inches can offer added durability and longer-lasting coverage, especially in higher-use areas. Depths less than 1.5 inches may allow weed barrier or soil to become visible. When in doubt, test a small section first.
Product details, what you should know
- Sizing: Primarily 1/2"–3/4" material. Some pieces may exceed 3/4", and the material will include smaller particles and fines as part of the natural mix.
- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a light presence of fines (typically less than 10%). Fines from production, handling and transport are normal.
- Appearance: Small fractured stone featuring a natural blend of warm rose, salmon, and creamy white tones with subtle russet accents. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. The warm rose and salmon tones are typical of this stone, with minor variation between loads as expected with any quarried material.
- Also known as: Commonly referred to as landscape gravel or decorative rock.
½″ Mountain Rose is a great option when you want the warmth and character of Mountain Rose in a smaller, more refined size. It works beautifully in accent areas and pathways and is especially popular for decorative ground cover and xeriscaping where a finer texture is preferred.
