Note: A typical installation depth is 2–2.5 inches for this rock, which provides good coverage for most applications. Installing at 3 inches can offer added durability and longer-lasting coverage, especially in higher-use areas. Depths less than 2 inches may allow weed barrier or soil to become visible. When in doubt, test a small section first.
Product details, what you should know
- Sizing: Primarily 1/2"–1" material. Some pieces may exceed 1", and the material will include smaller particles and fines as part of the natural mix.
- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a presence of fines (typically less than 10-15%). Fines from production, handling and transport are normal.
- Appearance: Smooth, naturally rounded gravel featuring a warm mix of soft cream, tan, and light gray tones. Colors warm significantly when wet, revealing rich amber and honey hues. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. The soft cream and tan tones are typical of this stone, though it is worth noting that loads can occasionally run heavier in gray tones than usual. As always, natural variation is to be expected with any naturally sourced river pebble.

Lakeside Gravel is a great choice for customers who want a warm, natural look without bold or overpowering colors. It has a subtle, understated appeal when dry, but the amber and honey tones that emerge when wet give it a really warm, rich character — especially nice around water features and fountains. As with all smooth rounded gravel, we don't recommend it for driveways or RV pads as it tends to shift under vehicle weight.
