Installing at 4 inches can offer added durability and longer-lasting coverage, especially in higher-use areas. Depths less than 3 inches may allow weed barrier or soil to become visible. When in doubt, test a small section first.
Product details, what you should know
- Sizing: Primarily 1.5"–2" material. Some pieces may exceed 2", and the material will include smaller particles and fines as part of the natural mix.
- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a presence of fines (typically less than 10-15%). Fines from production, handling and transport are normal.
- Appearance: Fractured stone featuring a soft blend of cream and white with peach, caramel, and rusty-orange striations running through many pieces. Colors are noticeably muted and pale when dry, and deepen into richer peach and amber tones when wet. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. The white, peach, and caramel mix is typical of this stone, with minor variation between loads as expected with any quarried material. This is one of our more dramatic "dry vs. wet" transformations — dry material reads pale and creamy, while wet material warms up considerably with richer peach and rust tones.
