True Sizing Note: Like all Mexican Beach Pebbles, our 1/2″–1″ designation follows a traditional industry grading scale. In practice, these pebbles measure approximately 1–2″ — so you can expect a beautifully substantial, hand-sized stone.

Note: A typical installation depth is 2–2.5 inches for this rock, which provides good coverage for most applications. Installing at 3 inches can offer added durability and longer-lasting coverage, especially in higher-use areas. Depths less than 2 inches may allow weed barrier or soil to become visible. When in doubt, test a small section first.
Product details, what you should know
- Sizing: Primarily 1/2"–1" material. Some pieces may exceed 1", and the material will include smaller particles and fines as part of the natural mix.
- Cleanliness: Unwashed material with a presence of fines (typically less than 10-15%). Fines from production, handling and transport are normal.
- Appearance: Smooth, naturally polished pebbles in cool blue-gray and sage green tones. Colors deepen significantly when wet, revealing rich charcoal and dark forest green hues. Color may vary slightly between loads.
- History: Material has remained generally consistent in size and color over time. As a naturally sourced beach stone, minor variation in tone and size is part of its character and expected between loads. Note that while this product is listed as ½″–1″, the average size of most pieces tends to run closer to 1½″ in practice.
- Also known as: Commonly referred to as beach pebbles or river rock.
These are a step up in size from our 3/8″–5/8″ Mexican Beach Pebbles and carry the same stunning color transformation from cool gray-blue dry to deep, rich green and charcoal when wet. Worth noting — the actual average size tends to run closer to 1½″, so keep that in mind when planning your project. As with all decorative pebbles, we don't recommend them for driveways or RV pads.
